How big is South Korea?

South Korea, officially known as the Republic of Korea, is a country located in East Asia. As of my last update in September 2021, South Korea has an area of approximately 100,210 square kilometers (38,691 square miles). It shares borders with North Korea to the north, and it is surrounded by the sea on its other three sides: the Yellow Sea to the west, the Sea of Japan (East Sea) to the east, and the Korea Strait to the south. The country's relatively small size is compensated by its high population density and economic significance on the global stage. Please note that these measurements are based on information available up to September 2021, and there may have been changes since then.
