There are a total of seven books in the Hobbit series, which consists of The Hobbit, The Lord of the Rings trilogy (The Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers, and The Return of the King), The Silmarillion, Unfinished Tales, The History of Middle-Earth, and The Children of Hurin. In addition to this, there is also a Hobbit prequel called The Children of Hurin.
