Little free library

A Little Free Library is a community-based book exchange program that encourages literacy and the love of reading by providing free books for people of all ages. These libraries are typically small, wooden structures that resemble a small house or a birdhouse. They are placed in public spaces such as parks, community centers, and schools, and they are usually stocked with books by volunteers from the community.

The basic idea behind Little Free Library is that it is a "take a book, return a book" program. Anyone can take a book from the library, and they are encouraged to return it or leave another book in its place. This creates a self-sustaining system of book exchange that promotes literacy and community engagement.

The Little Free Library organization was founded in 2009, and since then, more than 75,000 Little Free Libraries have been built and placed in communities around the world. They have been praised for their ability to promote literacy, encourage community engagement, and foster a sense of belonging.

The organization also provides stewardship support, like the charter sign, brochures and how-to guide for anyone who wants to build and register their own Little Free Library.
