Where is the spare tire on a Dodge Caravan?

If you find yourself stranded on the side of the road with a flat tire in your Dodge Caravan, you may be wondering “Where is the spare tire?” Rest assured, help is on the way! The spare tire of the Dodge Caravan is located underneath the vehicle, directly behind the rear driver’s side passenger door.

The spare tire can typically be found in vents at the bottom of the rear bumper or in a storage compartment located in the rear of the vehicle. To be able to access the spare tire, first open the back hatch of your vehicle. This is the door located above the rear bumper.

Upon opening the rear hatch, you’ll see a compartment with two barrels: a red barrel with a cross on it and a black barrel. The black barrel is where you’ll find your spare tire. Pull up on the black barrel’s handle to open the compartment, and the spare tire should be exposed.

If your vehicle doesn’t have a designated storage compartment at the rear of the vehicle, then you may have to access the spare tire using the vents located at the very bottom of the rear bumper. To do this, you’ll need to find the release lever located on the right side of the passenger door. Pull the lever to unlock the vent and rotate it towards the rear of the vehicle until it stops. Once the vent pops open, grab the handle to pull out the spare tire.

In some Dodge Caravan models, the spare tire may be located inside a steel wheel. If this is the case in your vehicle, you’ll first need to remove the wheel from the spare tire compartment and then use a lug wrench to loosen the wheel lugs. Once the wheel is loose, you can remove the wheel, exposing the spare tire beneath.

The spare tire of the Dodge Caravan should be marked with the vehicle’s jacking instructions and a tire pressure rating. Make sure you consult these instructions before using the spare tire. Additionally, avoid using the spare tire for more than 50 miles before having a professional inspect and replace it.

While it may be frustrating to find yourself in such a situation, it’s comforting to know that the spare tire of the Dodge Caravan is relatively easy to locate. Just remember, it’s usually located directly behind the rear passenger door or at the bottom of the rear bumper. With the right know-how and a bit of patience, you and your family should be back on the road before you know it.
