Sloppy steak is a variant of steak where the steak is not cooked for an exact amount of time, nor is it typically served as perfect as a medium rare or well done steak. Usually, the steak is cooked with a bit of char on the outside and with the inside still appearing pink or slightly reddish. This steak can be served in a variety of ways, including with a topping of a sauce or herbs and spices.
Ingredients:
1 pound skirt steak
3 tablespoons olive oil
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
2 cloves of garlic, minced
2 teaspoons smoked paprika
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon garlic powder
Salt and freshly ground pepper, to taste
Instructions:
1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
2. In a small bowl, mix together the olive oil, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, smoked paprika, onion powder, and garlic powder.
3. Place the steak in a shallow dish and coat it with the marinade. Cover the dish, refrigerate for at least 1 hour, and turn the steak over halfway through.
4. When ready to cook, heat a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat.
5. Add the marinated steak to the hot skillet and cook for about 4 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or longer for desired doneness.
6. Place the skillet in the preheated oven and bake for 8 to 10 minutes, depending on your desired doneness.
7. Remove the steak from the skillet and let it rest for 5 minutes before serving.
8. Serve with mashed potatoes or your favorite side dish and enjoy!
