Where is the spare tire on a Mini Cooper?

The spare tire on a Mini Cooper is located in the trunk of the car. Depending on the model of your Mini, the spare tire may be either a regular full-sized spare, a mini-sized spare, or a space-saver tire.

If you have a full-sized spare tire, it should be located in the bottom of the trunk. You may need to remove the floor tray or other small items to get to it. It is important to note that full-sized spares will take up more space than the other two tire types, so you may want to consider this when using the trunk.

If you have a Mini-sized spare tire, you may notice that it is not mounted in a dedicated area of the trunk. You will instead see it laying on top of the other items in the trunk, like the Jack and basic repair tools. In the case of a mini-sized spare, it is important to be aware that there will be less traction than with a full-sized tire and it should not be used for extended periods of time.

Finally, you may have a space-saver tire, which is a temporary tire designed to be used in emergencies. These tires are much smaller than the other two options and can easily fit into a corner of the trunk. They are not intended to be used over an extended period of time or to replace a full-sized spare tire due to the lack of traction they provide.

No matter which type of spare tire you have, it is important to remember to check it periodically to ensure that it is in good condition. Check the treads, the pressure, and the overall condition to make sure it won’t let you down when you need it most.

Knowing where your spare tire is, and how to access it, is a part of owning and driving a Mini Cooper. Be sure to refer to your owner’s manual to make sure you have the correct combination of equipment and tire types and have a safe drive.
