Why do people hate furries?

People hate furries for many reasons. In some cases there are individuals who, despite not being a furry themselves, have a negative opinion of the furry community. This might be because of the way that “furry culture” is sometimes represented in the media, which often paints furries as odd and strange, when in reality most furries are simply normal individuals who enjoy expressing their creativity and art in a fun and imaginative way. Some people view the furry community as being perpetuating of adult-oriented and even sexualized artwork, which further contributes to their negative view of the fandom.

In other cases, some individuals who identify as furries themselves may have grown to dislike—or, at the very least, gain a complicated relationship with—the furry community and its associated art, culture, and conventions. This could be due to the sense of judgment or misperception some members of the community may face from their peers, family members, or other people who are not familiar with the furry lifestyle or don’t understand it. It can also be due to a growing sense of frustration that some perceive when looking at the state of the furry community or its associated events.

Overall, it’s important to remember that everyone is entitled to their opinion and that the opinions of any one individual—no matter how loudly expressed—do not necessarily represent the views of the furry community as a whole. While it is true that some furries have a more negative outlook than others, it is also important to remember that there are many more furries who have nothing but respect and admiration for the world of furry and all its associated creativity, art, and culture.
