A common symptom of autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is difficulty in communication and interaction with others. Additionally, individuals with ASD may display restricted or repetitive behaviors, interests, or activities, such as preoccupation with a narrow set of interests or insistence on a rigid pattern of routines or ritualistic behavior. They may also have difficulty with change or transitions, as well as heightened sensitivity to sound, light, touch, taste, or smell.
